About Us:

Welcome to the Bellingham Traditional Jazz Society, a non-profit, tax-exempt society of enthusiastic jazz fans and musicians dedicated to preserving and promoting traditional jazz in the Pacific Northwest.

We present live monthly concerts the first Saturday of every month, except July and August, at the VFW Hall in Bellingham, WA, a non-smoking, wheelchair-accessible, venue with fine acoustics and sight-lines, large wooden dance floor, reasonable bar prices and snacks. Each session showcases a different band from the Pacific Northwest, view current schedule.

We welcome everyone and encourage young people to come and see what we are all about. Bring your friends and your dancing shoes or just sit and listen.

Annual membership is $15 per person. Admission is $10 for members, $12 for non-members and $6 for students (with card). Our monthly newsletter, Jazz Me News, is available to members and non-members. To join us, click Membership & Newsletter and download the form.

For the last several years our Youth Jazz program has enabled us to send one or two young musicians to Camp Heebie Jeebies at Lake Crescent, WA to attend a week-long summer workshop in traditional and big band jazz. In 2016 we sent three students to jazz camp: Lindsey Anderson, trombonist (her second year); Linnea DeVange, saxophonist and vocalist; and Jonathon King, trumpeter.
