I always love going to the Dakota and have been there many times. The food is wonderful and the service is excellent. The ticket process is run efficiently. In the last couple years I have been disappointed in two shows I attended. Sweet Honey in the Rock was so- so. Two weeks ago I saw a Bossa Nova singer; I'm sorry I can't recall her name. She was bad. She sang maybe one song, and she mostly riffed on melodies. She appeared to be drunk, frankly. A couple times she actually lay on the stage and kind of rolled around. It was embarrassing. Her guitarist is amazing, though. Other performers have been great. In the future, I'll just have to be more careful about which performers I choose.

Great music venue! Cocktails were quite unique and tasty. There is also a food menu, though we did not order from it. They have a pretty full music events schedule of many different acts. If you like hearing music in a cool and intimate setting, come here for a night out.

The food is okay - overpriced, in my opinion. The wine list / drink options are good. The music was fabulous. The service was quite bad... not sure if they were short a server or two, but it took way too long to submit several orders (food, dessert and wine). I would come again only for the music.

Right next to the Hyatt Regency hotel, an amazing jazz venue will blow you away! You can enjoy your hotel stay while casually strolling up Nicolett. This gem is a great start to your night or your destination after your patio dinner at the Hyatt Regency. The Dakota Jazz Club has hosted some amazing talent! Bring your date or go it alone, be sure to settle in for great talent, both local as well as national acts!

I saw the Victor Wooten trio there tonight. They were absolutely astounding, (had seen Victor before, but not the others). I had not been to the Dakota Jazz Club before tonight as I am not from Minneapolis and did not know what to expect, but the food was exceptional (I had the scallops). I would definitely recommend the experience to anyone who loves good food and good music in a warm, inviting atmosphere.
